ESET Security Buying Guide: HOME vs PROTECT
Choose ESET HOME Security when you want protection for personal devices managed through ESET HOME. Consider ESET PROTECT when your organisation needs central administration of business endpoints and servers. Then select the features, subscription term and seat allowance that match your devices.

ESET HOME: Essential vs Premium vs Ultimate
| Plan | Main reason to consider it | Before you buy |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Everyday antivirus, anti-phishing and supported banking, browsing and network protection. | Check that the features you need are available on each device’s operating system. |
| Premium | Adds privacy and data-protection tools, including unlimited VPN traffic and encryption on supported devices. | VPN device allowances are separate from antivirus seats. File-encryption and folder-protection support varies by platform. |
| Ultimate | For customers seeking additional identity-protection and ransomware-recovery features alongside device security and VPN. | Check supported platforms, identity-service eligibility and the individual feature allowances for your subscription. |
Higher tiers do not make every feature available on every device. ESET’s current UK range includes different VPN allowances by tier, and those allowances need not equal your antivirus seat count. Use the product description and current manufacturer requirements to check your combination of devices.
ESET PROTECT: Entry vs Advanced vs Complete
| Business plan | Selection guide |
|---|---|
| PROTECT Entry | A starting point for centrally managed endpoint and server protection. |
| PROTECT Advanced | Consider when you also need full disk encryption and advanced cloud-based threat analysis. |
| PROTECT Complete | Consider when your requirements extend to cloud applications and mail-server protection alongside endpoint protection, encryption and advanced threat defence. |
Tell us your endpoint count, operating systems, servers and cloud services before choosing. Confirm that the quoted subscription covers your intended deployment and workload; do not assume every module or service in the wider ESET platform is included in every tier.
Why does an ESET product show a low “From” price?
“From” shows the lowest eligible variant, which may be a volume price per seat or user. It is not necessarily the price for one person’s complete order.
- HOME Essential and Premium: 1–10-seat options are fixed-seat packs. The 11–25-seat option is priced per seat, with a minimum quantity of 11 and maximum of 25.
- HOME Ultimate: fixed-seat packs start at 5 seats. Its 11–25-seat option is priced per seat, with a minimum of 11 and maximum of 25.
- PROTECT and Full Disk Encryption: select the licence term and seat tier, then enter the number of seats. The lowest current starting rates are in the one-year, 50–99-seat tier and require at least 50 seats.
- Awareness Training: prices are per user. The lowest current starting rate is in the one-year, 50–99-user tier and requires at least 50 users.
For a per-seat variant, multiply its displayed price by the required seat quantity for the selected term. For a fixed-seat pack, the variant price already covers the stated seat count. Review the selected option, quantity, tax information and basket total before checkout.
Do I need a separate encryption or training product?
ESET Full Disk Encryption is an add-on product, rather than an antivirus licence. Check your existing ESET entitlement before ordering, as a higher PROTECT tier may already include disk encryption. Cybersecurity Awareness Training helps train users and does not replace endpoint protection.
Compatibility, renewals and choosing your term
Our new HOME and PROTECT listings offer 1, 2 or 3-year terms. Check the product’s licence details before purchase. For a renewal, extension or change to an existing subscription, contact us before ordering.
For HOME antivirus, check support for your Windows, macOS or Android version. ESET does not provide antivirus for iPhones or iPads; other services, such as a supported VPN, have their own compatibility rules. Business mobile management and protection also depend on platform and tier. Check ESET’s current system requirements rather than assuming that a feature list applies equally to all devices.
